Circular routes through woods around the Kälberstein past the summer and winter ski-jumps, as well as to the new natural open-air swimming pool "Aschauerweiher" (in winter, cross-country ski run) are very pleasant to walk along. All the surrounding districts of Berchtesgaden, which are all very different in character, as well as the spa town Bad Reichenhall and the cultural city of Salzburg, are ideal to visit by bus from the town centre or using your own car. Berchtesgaden has much to offer in the way of sports and leisure time activities (adventure pool, salt mine/healing galleries, outdoor swimming-pools, rafting, paragliding, guided rambles and climbing trips, bob-sleigh and toboggan runs, skiing and snowboarding pistes).
